As the week draws to an end – and a BEAUTIFUL day it was! – I thought I’d give a “shout out” to all the wonderful moms out there!  Thank you for being amazing – for nurturing and loving, for instilling morals and values, for providing guidance and support, and for teaching us to be independent and worthwhile women! Thank you for being excellent role models for our children. Hope you are celebrated this Mother’s Day!

Kate Middleton's Wedding Bouquet

Brides choose the flowers for their bridal bouquet for a variety of reasons – color, fragrance, favorite flower, etc.  For the Royal Wedding, Kate Middleton carefully chose the flowers for her bouquet based upon the meaning – or “language” – of each flower.  Her bouquet contained a stunning variety of myrtle, ivy, lily-of-the-valley, sweet William and hyacinth.  The lily-of-the-valley represents the return of happiness; sweet William means gallantry; hyacinth is for the constancy of love. Both ivy and myrtle represent both love and marriage, with myrtle as the emblem of marriage.

In choosing flowers for your wedding, think about what you want your bouquet to “say,” and choose your flowers accordingly.  Enjoy!

I was going through photos with friends the other day of our Sandals trip to Jamaica, and ran across the fabulous photo of the peacock that I encountered one morning at breakfast.  Still an amazing memory!  One of the most beautiful things nature has to offer … and what a wonderful detail to inspire a wedding!  Full of beautiful jewel tones – azure blues, royal purples, emerald greens, not to mention the turquoise hues. And the textures!  Ruffles, layers and scallops of fabrics.  Feathers of all types.  Oh, how much fun!

LOVE fresh, clean, citrus colors!  They just convey happiness and fresh starts.  Pair them with a neutral like a light gray, and you have a winning combination!  In this inspiration board, I wanted to maintain the whimsy of the vintage outdoor feel, yet combine it with the freshness of the tangerine color.  Enjoy!

Crisp, clean whites and rich, vibrant cherry red … two colors that bring out the best in one another.  With summer upon us, I thought it would be fun to create an inspiration board based upon these colors (and my love for cherries!), and a casually, elegant outdoor soiree.  Enjoy!

Looking for inspiration on a cold, rainy day …  I think a good book and a nice hot cup of tea is the order of the day.  Thought I’d share some fun, summery weekend “eye candy” with you to help brighten the day and provide some inspiration for summer entertaining.  Enjoy!

Looking for an inspired, unique, romantic way to propose?  I ran across this engagement story designed by Nico Cervantes of Nico Designs in Santa Barbara on The Wedding Chicks blog and simply HAD to share it with you.  This is the tale of a young man, who is so in love, that he wants to propose to her in the most unique and romantic way possible.  He leads her to a “secret meeting place,” by leaving her clues to follow, where she will find him … and this incredible outdoor setting.  The elements of this design are perfect … from the monochromatic flowers to the hanging details to the horse … all inspired, all unique.  Nico has brought the indoors … outdoors … in a very successful way.

Thought I’d end the week with a little “eye candy” from some of my favorite blogs.

I LOVE this engagement session idea! It’s so romantic!

Photobooths are a great way to capture the life of the wedding or event in a candid way.  Here’s an idea to take these to a totally different level and allow guests to really have some fun with it!

These shoes are JUST TOO MUCH FUN!!  This groom insisted that his groomsmen all wear Scorpio Paisley Vans … a true reflection of the couple’s personality and the influence skateboarding and punk-rock had on them growing up!

Have a great weekend!

This beautiful weather has me craving fresh lemonade!  I love lemons … everything about them!  I love the color, the taste – and that fresh, citrus scent is to die for.  So, with a glass of homemade lemonade in hand and blue skies overhead, I created this inspiration board. I love the color combination of yellow and turquoise.  It’s just … fun!  It makes me smile!  So, I hope you enjoy!

I love a fabulous Spring – especially when it leads to a magnificent June!  When the April rains have led to plentiful May flowers … and now fabulously lush and green June gardens.  It’s still cool enough to be able to enjoy the beautiful weather during the day, and the incredible evenings outdoors.  What a fabulous time for an outdoor wedding!

I was browsing through some of my favorite blogs, and ran across this amazing inspiration board on Snippet & Ink, inspired by the book “The Secret Garden.”  Could it be more perfect?  I just had to share it with you.

These are the days that I dream about, that inspire me and allow me to create incredibly romantic garden weddings.  One can only imagine that magic and love can be found right around the corner in lush gardens, hidden fences and secret paths.  The pale lilacs of the flowers and the cool celery hues create a perfect color palette for this wedding, and the added touch of crystals, ruffles and lace are fitting touches.  The ambiance is cool, yet warm and intimate.  Certainly one to serve as a fabulous backdrop for love and memories on your special day!

Here’s a great tip:  I love serving ice cold lemonade with a sprig of lavender.  Not only does it look beautiful, but it also takes the drink to an entirely different level of chic and elegance.

Enjoy this long Memorial Day weekend!
