I love cherry blossoms!  They are symbols of good fortune, emblems of love, affection and spring.  What a wonderful way to celebrate spring – especially because they are so delicate and elegant. This week is the peak of the blossoming of the cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C., so I decided what a perfect time to blog about incorporating something that you love, that is symbolic or special into your wedding or event.

The use of your favorite item or symbol doesn’t have to be over-the-top.  It can be as subtle or as lavish as you like.  Here, I have decided to show you a few ways to incorporate cherry blossoms into a wedding.  It can be through invitations, a cake, the use of the blossoms in bouquets, favors … or something as elegant as using the colors of blush pink, ivory/white and brown in your wedding gown.  I have assisted a bride with a Monique Lhuillier gown to reflect the cherry blossom season … she wore a blush ball gown, with an ivory lace halter vest, and a beautiful chocolate brown sash – gorgeous!

We often encourage and assist our couples in finding a theme or motif that is special to them or reflective of their personalities – something that makes them unique – subtly carrying it through to all aspects of the wedding.  This allows the wedding celebration to be cohesive from beginning to end, and allows the guests to feel connected to the wedding at all times – from the invitations through the favors.

Find that one thing that you are inspired by and allow it to help make your wedding yours.
